Sumerian Records has announced a new cross-genre tribute album honoring The Smashing Pumpkins in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the band’s debut album Gish.
Titled Sending Hearts To All My Dearies – A Tribute To The Smashing Pumpkins, the project arrives digitally on August 14, with a vinyl release set for October 16. The compilation features 15 covers spanning the band’s catalog, reimagined by a wide range of alternative, metal, electronic, and indie artists.
Contributors include Tame Impala, Carpenter Brut, Meg Myers, Des Rocs, Between The Buried And Me, Palaye Royale, Alice Glass, Nita Strauss, Yonaka, and others, highlighting the band’s influence across multiple genres.
The first single released from the project is Tame Impala’s cover of “Hummer” from Siamese Dream.
The Smashing Pumpkins will also be on tour this fall, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
