Snot Are Eight Songs Into Their First Album In Decades

Snot are deep into work on their first proper studio album in decades, and guitarist Mikey Doling says the band already has eight songs in the bag. Reinvigorated by the 2024 addition of vocalist Andy Knapp, the nü-metal punk outfit is tracking the record with producer/mixer/engineer Chris Collier.

In a recent interview from last month’s Sick New Vegas festival, Doling said the band is thrilled to finally be moving toward a real follow-up to 1997’s Get Some. He described Collier as a strong fit for the project, pointing to his work with bands like Korn and Prong as part of the reason the group is excited about the direction of the album.

“We are working a brand new album right now. It’s our first album since ‘Get Some’. It’s literally gonna be 30 years later, and we’re really pumped on it. We’re working with Chris Collier. [He’s] a great producer. He’s done a couple of Korn records, some Prong and a lot of bands we love.”

“We’re eight songs into the album right now, so we’re real close to completing it. And it’s gonna come out, and we’re fucking stoked on it.”

While Strait Up arrived in 2000, that record was a guest-heavy tribute to late vocalist Lynn Strait, who died in a 1998 car accident. It also drew from song ideas Snot had been developing for a planned follow-up to Get Some, making this new album the band’s first true studio statement in years.
