Momentum continues to build around long-overdue new material from nü-metal punk veterans Snot. The band revealed via social media on January 11th that they have already completed five new songs as part of their ongoing recording sessions.
Snot’s last official studio album, Get Some, was released in 1997. Following the tragic passing of original vocalist Lynn Strait, the band issued Strait Up in 2000 — a tribute album constructed from material originally intended for the follow-up to Get Some, featuring an array of guest vocalists.
In January 2025, Snot officially introduced Andy Knapp (Stronger Than Machines) as their new frontman, ushering in a renewed era for the band that has since included extensive touring. With the group now firmly back in creative mode, guitarist Mikey Doling shared the following update on their studio progress:
**“Snot is excited to announce that the band has been writing and recording brand-new music, and the momentum is strong! The process has been going exceptionally well with five new songs already completed.
The energy coming out of the studio has been undeniable. We’ve been working hard writing & recording… When I listen back to what we’ve been doing, I get chills and fill up with crazy excitement!”**
The band added that more information is on the way, including single release details, album information, and additional announcements, all of which are expected to be revealed in the near future.
