SOEN Unveil “Mercenary” Music Video From Upcoming Album ‘Reliance’

Swedish progressive metal force SOEN have unveiled “Mercenary”, the second single from their forthcoming seventh studio album, Reliance. The track arrives alongside an intense new music video directed by Freakshot Film, highlighting the band’s signature balance of precision, emotion, and social commentary.

Drummer Martin Lopez reflected on the meaning behind the song, stating:

“‘Mercenary‘ is about the violence we inherit, which then sees hatred seeping into lives—and life—which in turn shapes generations. It also addresses betrayal, about how that can see us ‘crowning vultures into kings.’”

Reliance is set for release on January 16th, marking another ambitious entry in SOEN’s evolving catalog. The band has also announced a limited run of live performances in support of the album, including festival appearances throughout 2025:
