SOL INVICTO (Deftones, Cypress Hill) Reimagine Debut EP “Loosely Aware” As Instrumental Release Featuring XRC

Sol Invicto, the genre-blending supergroup featuring Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter, Cypress Hill percussionist Eric Bobo, and producer/guitarist Richie Londres, have reissued their debut EP Loosely Aware with a new instrumental overhaul. The revised version of the three-track outing now features lead guitar parts from Xander Raymond Charles (aka XRC), who joins the project for this updated take.

Previously available as part of an exclusive fan club initiative, Loosely Aware marked the public debut of Sol Invicto late last year. The collective also includes drummer Dan Foord (SikTh), among others.

Speaking on the new direction for the EP, Londres explained:

“This is the music in its true form. It was great to present the project with a vocalist, and it’s something we will revisit again, but my vision for this project was instrumental at its core, and to be able to present this vision with XRC on guitar really lifted it up.”

He also praised XRC’s addition to the collective, stating:

“XRC is an immense talent and so positive to work with; we doubt this will be the last time we work together, the first of many.”
