SOL INVICTO Unveil Synthwave Reimagining Of ‘Lost In Translation’ With New Track “Under The Surface”

Sol Invicto have rolled out another entry in their ongoing Vault Of Shadows project, this time debuting a synth-drenched reimagining titled “Under The Surface.” The track serves as a transformed version of “Lost In Translation,” originally featured on the collective’s debut EP, Loosely Aware.

This latest weekly installment brings together the core creative forces behind the electronic-metal group: keys and composition from project architect Richie Londres, guitars from Deftones’ Stephen Carpenter, drums from SikTh’s Dan Foord, and vocals from Sean Plague of Plague To Pyres. Mastering duties were handled by Technical Itch. The only regular contributor absent this round is percussionist Eric Bobo of Cypress Hill.

Londres explained the creative approach behind this reinterpretation, offering:

“This version was built from alternative mixes and unused synth lines I had created for the original track. My goal was to craft a slower, moodier take—more of a soundscape than a traditional song. As I worked, certain sections blended perfectly with elements of the original, so I decided to combine both. The result highlights the compelling lyrics that Sean wrote and captures the atmospheric mood I was aiming for, and always aiming for.”
