Soul Exchange Sign With 1126 Records, Debut “Cash And Cold Hands” Video

Rising Texas metallic hardcore outfit Soul Exchange have officially joined 1126 Records, the New England‑based label known for championing heavy, uncompromising music. The band has also announced their new EP, ‘Slow Descent’, set for release on June 5.

In a statement from the band, drummer Colby Cameron explained the connection, emphasizing the label’s reputation and the fortuitous live introduction:

“We reached out to 1126 with the EP because we had friends who were previously on the label, and they had nothing but great things to say about their experience. We’ve also always had a lot of admiration for Scott Lee.

What we didn’t realize was that we had actually played a show with Tom Lovejoy, the label manager, about five months before signing. He liked what he saw enough to remember our name, open our cold email, and listen to the record. From there, we started talking about working together. We’re incredibly thankful and excited to be part of the roster.”

‘Slow Descent’ marks Soul Exchange’s second EP and further solidifies their sound in the realm of punishing riffs, crushing rhythms, and relentless momentum. Built around a concept of addiction and its corrosive, far‑reaching impact, the record pairs aggressive, metallic hardcore with a deeply personal lyrical lens. The EP was recorded with Kieran Krebs at Overcast Recordings and mixed by Taylor Young at The Pit, capturing the band’s live‑wire intensity in studio form.

The announcement arrives with the premiere of the new single “Cash And Cold Hands,” featuring Taylor Young (Disgrace, Deadbody, Twitching Tongues) and accompanied by a music video that leans into the track’s oppressive mood. Vocalist Austin Greco outlined the song’s perspective and intent:

“Told through the dealer’s perspective, this song turns addiction into numbers, transactions, and complete detachment. It shows how easy it is to normalize someone else’s downfall when it benefits you.

‘Cash And Cold Hands’ is everything we want this band to be—it’s fast, aggressive, riff‑driven, and leaves no room for filler. Taylor has produced and written some of our favorite records, so having him work on this track still feels surreal.”

With ‘Slow Descent’ geared for a June 5 release and a growing presence in the Texas and wider U.S. metallic‑hardcore circuit, Soul Exchange look poised to turn a lot of heads.
