Canadian alternative metal outfit Spiritbox have officially reached a major milestone: their song “Circle With Me” is now a gold-certified single in the United States.
Originally released as the third single from their debut album Eternal Blue in April 2021, “Circle With Me” is also the band’s biggest hit to date. While the RIAA has yet to formally issue the certification, Spiritbox’s label Pale Chord confirmed on social media yesterday, August 18th, that the single has met the necessary criteria.
Pale Chord shared some behind-the-scenes context:
“A fun story – ‘Hurt You‘ was going to be the first single off Eternal Blue, we had a video set to go and the night before Mike called me and said ‘I think we need to shift to Circle With Me.’ I could not disagree, also a very good song. So in 24 hours notice we shifted gears and the next day showed up and filmed Circle With Me instead. We are awaiting the official RIAA certification but CWM is now a Gold single. Trust your gut!”
In the United States, a gold single represents 500,000 units, which can include a combination of traditional sales, digital downloads (10 downloads = 1 unit), and streaming (150 streams = 1 unit).
This achievement marks a milestone in Spiritbox’s rapidly rising career, proving the band’s impact on modern alternative metal.
