SPITE HOUSE Sign to Pure Noise Records, Announce New Album ‘Desertion’ + Debut “Desert” Music Video

Montreal, QC-based post-hardcore outfit Spite House have officially signed with Pure Noise Records and announced their sophomore album Desertion, due out September 12th through the label. Alongside the news, the band have released a haunting video for the new single “Desert”, directed by Jordano Aguzzi.

The emotionally charged track draws from intense personal trauma. Vocalist/guitarist Maxime Lajoie explained:

“It’s a snapshot of the morning I found out my dad had taken his own life and had to go back in my house to pack and leave, both literally and emotionally. It’s the sound of emptiness and confusion—of standing in a place that used to feel like home and realizing it’s now abandoned.”

Reflecting on the album as a whole, Lajoie added:

“There’s nothing happy about these songs. They’re about trying to relive these tragic experiences so that I can try to not let them define me—so the sonics really needed to match that. I didn’t want to worry about songs sounding too dark or too aggressive.”
