Split Chain have unveiled two new reworked singles from the upcoming deluxe edition of their debut album, motionblur. The British nü-gaze outfit originally announced the expanded version of the record back in May, though details surrounding guest appearances had remained under wraps until now.
That secrecy has since been lifted, with the band confirming a wide range of featured artists across the project. Alongside previously released reworked cut “Scatterbrain,” Split Chain have now dropped new versions of “Headway” and “SPIT,” featuring contributions from tourmates Roman Candle and False Reality, respectively.
Speaking on the collaborations, the band praised both guests for their interpretations of the tracks.
“Asking both Piper and Rachel to feature on these songs was an absolute no brainer for us. We’re all such big fans of what they do in their own bands and we were so excited to see how they would interpret these songs. Not only that, but being able to have features from bands in both the US and UK scenes is so sick.
They both have such distinctive, dynamic and incredible voices and hearing how their own natural flair sits so well in these songs is legitimately insane.
They’ve genuinely done the songs an incredible amount of justice, and their unique takes on each have really elevated the songs to a point where they now sit comfortably as their definitive versions. We couldn’t be happier with how the songs have turned out, and we’re so excited to be able to tour with them in September.”
