Static Dress Cancel Immediate European Dates Due To Family Emergency

British post-hardcore outfit Static Dress have canceled several upcoming European appearances after a family emergency forced the band to step away from their immediate touring plans.

The affected dates include scheduled performances with Knocked Loose in Lyon, France and Zurich, Switzerland later this month, along with the band’s planned appearances at the European edition of Slam Dunk Festival.

In a statement shared May 15, the band explained that the situation arose following their recent return from Australia.

“DUE TO A FAMILY EMERGENCY, WE UNFORTUNATELY WILL NO LONGER BE APPEARING ON THE UPCOMING KNOCKED LOOSE DATES OR OUR SLAM DUNK FESTIVAL EUROPE APPEARANCES.”

The group added that the circumstances currently prevent them from leaving the United Kingdom again at this time.

“THIS SITUATION IS PREVENTING US FROM BEING ABLE TO LEAVE THE UK AGAIN FOLLOWING OUR RETURN FROM AUSTRALIA.”

Static Dress also apologized to fans impacted by the cancellations while asking for privacy surrounding the matter.

“WE’RE INCREDIBLY SORRY TO EVERYONE WHO WAS PLANNING TO SEE US AND APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING WHILE WE PRIORITISE BEING HOME WITH OUR FAMILY.”

“WE ASK FOR SENSITIVITY WITH THIS MATTER AND THAT YOU PLEASE RESPECT OUR PRIVACY AT THIS TIME.”

Despite the canceled European appearances, the band confirmed they still intend to perform at the UK edition of Slam Dunk Festival, as well as their upcoming Panic Room V4 shows.

Static Dress also thanked Knocked Loose and the Slam Dunk team for the opportunities, while promising fans they intend to return to Europe soon.

The news arrives just weeks before the release of the band’s upcoming album, ‘Injury Episode’, which is scheduled to arrive May 29 through Sumerian Records. Last month, the band released “…Hospice” as the album’s third single.
