Canadian alt-metal outfit Sumo Cyco have unleashed the music video for their latest single, “Asteroid”, taken from their upcoming album Neon Void. The track’s visuals were directed by vocalist Sky Sweetnam, who also shared the meaning behind the song.
Sweetnam explains:
“It’s about impact and anger, the world is so interconnected, and I feel there’s growing tension when the actions of one person can ripple out to affect everyone. Technology and ideas can spread like wildfire — for better or worse. We glorify creating maximum change, but in the wrong hands, it can be reckless and exploitative. I feel like a flaming ball of rock and metal that wants to hurl itself into the abyss. The world will survive… the question is, will we?”
Neon Void is set to drop October 24th, marking the next chapter for Sumo Cyco’s high-energy blend of punk, metal, and genre-bending chaos.
