Canadian alternative metal powerhouse Sumo Cyco have announced their fourth studio album, Neon Void, which is set for release on October 24th. Alongside the album announcement, the band have shared a brand-new single, “Shivers”, which arrives complete with a music video directed by vocalist Skye Sweetnam herself.
Speaking on the inspiration behind “Shivers”, Sweetnam offered:
“‘Shivers’ captures that gut feeling you get when something feels wrong even if you can’t explain why. It’s a physical reaction beyond your control, no matter how much you try.”
Of the album as a whole, she added:
“The neon void is temptation and escape. It’s both maze and mirror. This record was written when I felt trapped in darkness and needed to build my way back toward something vibrant and alive.”
Recording sessions for Neon Void took place with producer Salvatore Sam Guiana (Silverstein, The Devil Wears Prada).
