Czech deathcore outfit Swept Into Decay have unveiled a new music video for “BODY//GOLD,” the title track from their forthcoming EP.
The band’s new effort, ‘BODY//GOLD’, is set to arrive September 18 through Seek & Strike, with the latest single serving as the final preview ahead of the full release.
Describing the track, the group says “BODY//GOLD” brings together many of the elements that define their sound, with a particular emphasis on its groove, riffs and drumming.
“The final single released with the whole EP is ‘Body/Gold,’ and let us tell you, this one is a wild ride. We basically put everything we love into this track. It’s the grooviest one for sure with some insane riffs. The biggest highlight is actually the drums. Tom had a blast writing them and it shows.”
Lyrically, the song explores an internal battle between good and evil, portraying a struggle that gradually tears its central character apart. The remaining goodness within them — represented by gold — begins to emerge through the scars left behind.
That concept also plays a major role in the accompanying video. Filmed at the same location used for the band’s “Ethereal” video, the visual features two dancers who physically embody the song’s internal conflict.
“The music video complements the song to the point where they become inseparable from each other. Shot in the same location as ‘Ethereal,’ we invited two very talented dancers to present the internal struggle in a more physical form. They start as equals, but after a while, one starts consuming the other.”
With ‘BODY//GOLD’ arriving tomorrow, Swept Into Decay have now offered their final glimpse at the EP before the complete release lands.
