The Acacia Strain guitarist and vocalist Devin Shidaker has launched a new doom metal project called Spirit Wound, handling the writing, performances, recording and production himself. The project has debuted with the 10-plus-minute single “The Light Refuses Me,” a deeply personal track Shidaker says was shaped by grief following a year of personal loss and tragedy. The song is currently streaming on Bandcamp, with a wider release on additional platforms expected next week.
