Rising stoner/doom metal outfit Bastardane have released a new single titled “Taciturn & Morose,” continuing their recent run of fresh material.
The track follows the previously unveiled “Mother’s Tongue” and once again sees the band working with Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier in the producer’s chair. His involvement has helped shape the group’s dense, atmospheric sound as they further refine their evolving musical identity.
Drummer Castor Hetfield remains a central figure in Bastardane, representing a new generation of metal musicians. He is the son of Metallica vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield, though the band has continued carving out its own lane within the heavier psychedelic and doom-leaning underground.
With “Taciturn & Morose,” Bastardane expand on the slow-burning heaviness and textured songwriting introduced in their recent releases, suggesting more new material may be on the horizon.
