Dutch progressive metalcore outfit Textures have unveiled their third single from their highly anticipated comeback album Genotype, due out January 23rd via Kscope. The latest track, “Vanishing Twin”, continues the band’s post-2023 reunion momentum and dives into deeply personal themes.
Drummer Stef Broks elaborated on the song’s inspiration:
“I have two relatives who struggle with the so-called Lost or Vanishing Twin syndrome. This happens when two foetuses emerge in the womb, but one of them is absorbed by the woman’s body or the other twin. The remaining child that is being born will often deal with the traumatic feeling of having lost a brother/sister and this can shape their life in a significant way.”
Textures will bring their new material to the stage across Europe early next year, supported by Jinjer and Unprocessed.
