Swedish metal veterans The Haunted have officially returned with their long-awaited tenth studio album, Songs Of Last Resort, released today (May 30th). The record marks the band’s first full-length effort since 2017, and arrives with a ferocious new single — “Death To The Crown” — which has also received a fittingly intense music video.
Guitarist Ola Englund, who directed the video, opened up about the meaning behind the track:
“‘Death To The Crown’ is one of those songs that just came out of pure frustration. It’s about that feeling when you’re watching politicians or leaders treat real people like pawns in some kind of game. It’s not about any one person or country – it’s about the bigger pattern. Power going to people’s heads, egos growing out of control, and the rest of us left dealing with the mess.
It’s heavy. It’s aggressive. It’s The Haunted.”
The new record delivers a potent mix of thrash, death, and groove — everything fans have come to expect from the band’s uncompromising legacy. Songs Of Last Resort is available now across all major platforms.
