Baltimore hardcore newcomers The S.E.T. have officially entered the fray with the release of their debut single, “T.M.T.”, marking the first public offering from the newly formed outfit.
The band have already drawn early attention thanks to the involvement of guitarist Brady Ebert, formerly of Turnstile. The S.E.T.’s first EP, Self Evident Truth, is slated for release on March 6th via Flatspot Records.
Rounding out the lineup alongside Ebert is Flatspot Records founder Figueroa on bass, former End It drummer Ryan, and vocalist Tim, completing a lineup rooted firmly in Baltimore’s hardcore scene. A music video for “T.M.T.”, directed by Rob Silver, is available to watch now.
Speaking on the ethos behind the project, Ebert explained:
“We live in a society, especially now with this current administration, where the people up top try to defy the truth through propaganda, war, racism and all forms of authoritarian ideas. I wanted this release to define what we are and what we believe the truth is.”
The upcoming EP features seven tracks, including a guest appearance from Gut Instinct, and serves as a mission statement for the band’s uncompromising worldview and sound.
