Thrice Share Luo’s Dynamic Remix of “Undertow”

Californian post-hardcore mainstays Thrice have released a fresh remix of “Undertow” from their latest album Horizons/West. The new version comes courtesy of Luo, who took on the track at the personal invitation of Thrice drummer Riley Breckenridge.

Speaking about the project, Luo shared:

“My remix of @thrice’s ‘Undertow’ is out now! Taken from their most recent album Horizons/West.
I’ve been a fan of Thrice for over two decades — albums like Vheissu and The Alchemy Index were a huge influence during my teen years and early 20s, even inspiring me to pick up a guitar and start producing my own tracks.

When @rileybreck invited me to remix, I was stunned and terrified but over the moon. I feel so lucky to work on this and want to thank Riley and the team for making it happen.
I’ve pulled out every production trick in my toolbox for this one — hope everyone enjoys it!

Breckenridge added context on why Luo was the perfect fit for the remix:

“I’ve been a fan of @luo_music (Josh Trinnaman) since our UK/Europe tour manager shared their genre-fusing work about a decade ago — big grooves, riffs, EDM hooks, and dynamic atmospheres. When I learned Josh grew up listening to Thrice, it felt like a full-circle moment.

For each of our recent albums, we’ve tried to release a remix or two, and I thought it’d be fun to see what Luo could do with a Horizons/West track. ‘Undertow’ fit perfectly — Josh stayed true to the core of the song while pushing boundaries and taking it in unexpected directions. Hope fans dig it!”
