Thy Art Is Murder Withdraw From Headlining ‘Chaos & Carnage Tour’ After Jesse Beahler’s Medical Emergency

Thy Art Is Murder have been forced to step away from the headlining slot on this year’s ‘Chaos & Carnage Tour’ after drummer Jesse Beahler suffered a medical emergency. The band said Beahler was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and underwent emergency surgery, leaving him unable to travel or perform for the next several weeks.

As you may have seen, we have had to withdraw from the @chaosandcarnagetour We know how much this tour meant to a lot of you and we don’t take that lightly.

On the way to the airport, to fly to the states for rehearsals, Jesse began experiencing severe abdominal pain. He was taken to urgent care and referred immediately to the ER, where he was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and underwent emergency surgery. In all of this, the lucky part is it hit at the beginning of our 20 hour journey and not somewhere over the Pacific.

Jesse came through his surgery well and is recovering, but has been medically advised to not fly or perform for six weeks. We are incredibly grateful to the medical teams responsible for his diagnosis and care.

Jesse’s focus now is making a full recovery so he’s ready to hit the studio with us through June and July.

With Thy Art Is Murder out of the run, Carnifex and Bodysnatcher will now co-headline ‘Chaos & Carnage Tour’, which also includes 200 Stab Wounds, Ingested, Gates To Hell, and Bodybox. Tour organizers said Beahler’s recovery will take several weeks and wished him a full and healthy return.

“Due to a sudden medical emergency involving their drummer requiring emergency surgery, Thy Art Is Murder will unfortunately no longer be appearing on this year’s Chaos & Carnage tour. We were informed this week that recovery will take several weeks, which will prevent the band from taking part in the tour. We wish Jesse Beahler a full and healthy recovery.

That said, Chaos & Carnage continues on with one of the heaviest lineups of the year, featuring Carnifex, Bodysnatcher, 200 Stab Wounds, Ingested, Gates to Hell, and Bodybox“
