Tom Morello has canceled the remaining dates of his European and UK tour after revealing that his 102-year-old mother, Mary Morello, has been hospitalized once again.
Earlier this month, the Rage Against The Machine guitarist temporarily paused his tour to return home and be with his mother before resuming performances after her condition appeared to improve. Although several postponed shows were rescheduled, Morello has now announced that the rest of the tour has been canceled so he can be with his family.
In a statement shared on June 25, Morello explained his decision.
“Dear friends, fans and comrades, my dear mom, Mary Morello is back in the hospital and I’m headed home to help look after her. Rocking the UK & Europe with you all this summer has been incredible and I cant wait to be back with you and continue this movement that we started. With much love, unity and power.”
As a result, Morello will no longer appear at Tons of Rock Festival or BBK Music Legends Festival. Refunds for his headline shows in London and Paris will be available through the original point of purchase.
