Toni Cornell, daughter of the late Chris Cornell, paid tribute to her father during Soundgarden’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this past weekend. The 21-year-old delivered a moving performance of “Fell On Black Days”, the final single from the band’s six-times platinum album Superunknown.
Her heartfelt rendition featured Nancy Wilson (Heart) on acoustic guitar and included a delicate string arrangement, creating an emotional highlight of the evening.
The induction ceremony took place on November 8th at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, CA, with Soundgarden’s surviving core members in attendance to accept the honor. The band also performed “Rusty Cage” (featuring Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless and Mike McCready of Pearl Jam) and “Black Hole Sun” (featuring Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, Brandi Carlile, and former Soundgarden bassist Hiro Yamamoto).
The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony was livestreamed on Disney+ and will receive a televised airing on ABC on January 1st, 2026.
