TOOL guitarist Adam Jones has long made his love for professional wrestling no secret—and now, he’s crossed a major item off his bucket list by collaborating directly with WWE.
Known for once performing on stage while dressed like Penta El Zero Miedo, Jones’ fandom runs deep. From attending live events to calling Triple H his “Yoda,” the revered guitarist’s passion for wrestling finally merged with his musical legacy through a contribution to the new entrance themes for Penta and Rey Fenix, two of WWE’s latest high-profile signees.
Backstage at the WWE Money in the Bank premium live event—held at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles—Jones was on hand as Triple H handed him a single dollar bill. The playful exchange was caught on video and shared by Triple H, who quipped: “Worth every penny. Thank you to Adam Jones of TOOL for bringing your sound to these epic entrances!!” Jones jokingly responded that he drives a hard bargain when it comes to musical collaborations.
Adam himself later reflected on the moment via social media:
“What an ultimate experience it is for me to cross off ‘collaborating on music with @wwe’ on my bucket list.”
While the $1 price tag might be a gag, the significance certainly isn’t. Jones has a longstanding history with pro wrestling—he previously performed the national anthem at WWE SummerSlam 2011 and has often voiced his admiration for the spectacle, storytelling, and athleticism of the sport. He even once had to skip attending WrestleMania 32 because he was deep in the studio sessions for TOOL’s long-awaited Fear Inoculum album.
Now, with his signature guitar work officially part of WWE’s soundscape, fans of both heavy music and wrestling can hear his influence during the entrances of Penta and Rey Fenix—two masked warriors whose mystique and energy align perfectly with Jones’ own visual and sonic identity.
