Sebastian Bach, Death Angel, Exhumed & Gruesome Members Rework ‘The Transformers: The Movie’ Soundtrack

Hasbro are revisiting the 1986 cult animated film The Transformers: The Movie with a newly reimagined version of its original soundtrack, enlisting a wide lineup of rock and metal contributors for the project titled The Transformers: The Movie: The Soundtrack: The Reformatted Edition.

The original film soundtrack—best known for its hard rock and metal-leaning cuts such as Stan Bush’s “The Touch”—is being fully reinterpreted with a modern heavy music cast, led by a core house band operating under the name The Knights Of Unicron.

That core lineup features Gus Rios, Ross Sewage, and Matt Harvey, with additional high-profile guest appearances throughout the record.

The first preview of the project arrives via a re-recorded version of “The Touch,” performed by Stan Bush alongside The Knights Of Unicron.

Other contributors include Sebastian Bach, Mark Osegueda, Brittney Slayes, and Francesco Cavalieri, among others.

The project is set for release on July 24 via Reigning Phoenix Music and coincides with a 40th anniversary celebration of the film, which will also return to theaters for a limited 4K re-release on September 17.
