An apparent scheduling dispute between Trapt and two of the bands supporting them reportedly escalated into a heated confrontation during a November 6 show in Fort Pierce, Florida.
The incident unfolded at Guadalajara Night Club, where Dirty Crumbums and Fear To Infirmity were both scheduled to perform ahead of Trapt as part of the latter’s ongoing tour celebrating their self-titled debut album.
According to Dirty Crumbums, their performance was shortened after Trapt’s tour manager informed them that the headliners wanted to wrap up early and get to bed. The opening act claims its original 30-minute set was reduced to 20 minutes before its microphones and instruments were allegedly shut off just 17 minutes into the performance.
Rather than immediately leaving the stage, Dirty Crumbums continued playing despite the apparent efforts to cut their set short. The band later shared footage of the incident alongside an angry account of what transpired.
Dirty Crumbums said in a subsequent video:
“We just played a show with ‘legendary’ rock band Trapt with their hit song ‘Headstrong’. And these ccksuckers cut our set at 17 minutes. We walked in today with a 30 minute set, we were told they wanted to get to bed by 10:30, so they cut it down to 20, and then they cut all our mics off at 17 minutes. We still finished strong… And they [Trapt] blew Mr. Ty’s amp over here. They cut his set short for Fear Of Infirmity too. Fuck these guys, we still one. DC motherfckin’ B.”
The band also alleged that Fear To Infirmity had its performance shortened, with the group’s equipment reportedly affected as well.
The situation apparently continued after Trapt took the stage. Footage shared by Dirty Crumbums shows members of the opening band and some audience members chanting “DCB” during Trapt’s performance. Trapt frontman Chris Taylor Brown subsequently had the group and their supporters removed from the venue, according to the account accompanying the footage.
In another clip recorded outside the club, Dirty Crumbums claimed that the ejection had cost Trapt roughly half of the audience.
The dispute also spilled over onto social media, with Dirty Crumbums supporters flooding a subsequent Trapt post from the show with references to the opening band’s abbreviated name, “DCB.”
The incident adds another public confrontation involving Chris Taylor Brown, who has previously found himself embroiled in disputes with fellow musicians and online critics. For now, the account of the shortened sets and the events that followed comes from Dirty Crumbums’ own posts.
