Travis Sedg Bacon is set to release his new solo EP ‘Industrial Blues’ on July 10th, blending industrial aggression with blues-infused textures in what he describes as a fusion of both worlds.
Best known as the frontman of industrial goth-metal project CONTRACULT, Bacon continues to expand his solo identity while drawing attention in part due to his family lineage—being the son of actors Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.
The first preview from the EP, titled “Dopamine,” offers an early glimpse into the project’s heavier electronic direction, combining distorted industrial soundscapes with a modern alternative edge.
Alongside the EP announcement, Bacon is also involved in an upcoming horror comedy film titled ‘Family Movie’, directed by his father Kevin Bacon. The film features Travis portraying a death metal musician in a fictional band called Obscure Death.
To bring that fictional band to life, Bacon recruited an eclectic lineup of collaborators, including his CONTRACULT bandmate Nicholas Emde, Ghostemane, Raeph Glicken (Black Anvil / Kill Your Idols), and Samantha Mobley of Frozen Soul.
In addition to acting, Bacon also contributed original music to the film, which recently premiered at SXSW, further blurring the line between his real-world music career and his on-screen role.
With ‘Industrial Blues’ on the way and a growing presence in film, Travis Sedg Bacon continues to carve out a hybrid space between industrial music and cinematic storytelling.
