Industrial rock icons Nine Inch Nails briefly halted their performance last Friday (March 6th) at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, AZ after a fight broke out in the audience during the band’s closing song.
The altercation occurred while the band were performing one of their most recognizable tracks, “Hurt.” As the disturbance escalated in the crowd, frontman Trent Reznor stopped the performance to call out those involved and demand the situation be handled.
Reznor addressed the crowd from the stage while security moved in to remove the individuals responsible:
“Hey, we’re not here for this sht man. C’mon, hey! hey! There’s enough bullsht happening out there, we don’t need it happening in the f*ck here.”
With the set paused, venue security escorted the fighting concertgoers out of the crowd while much of the audience responded with loud boos directed toward those involved in the scuffle.
Once the situation was resolved and the individuals were removed, Nine Inch Nails resumed the performance and finished the song shortly afterward.
Fan-filmed footage of the moment has since surfaced online.
