Turnstile Cover Inside Out’s “Burning Fight” During BBC Radio 1 Session

Turnstile paid tribute to hardcore history during a recent appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, performing a cover of Inside Out’s 1989 track “Burning Fight.” The performance saw vocalist Brendan Yates channel the intensity and cadence of a young Zack de la Rocha, who originally fronted the short-lived California hardcore band before launching Rage Against The Machine.

The original incarnation of Inside Out also featured Vic DiCara prior to his later work in the Krishna-core scene. While the band’s catalog remains small, “Burning Fight” has long been regarded as one of the more influential releases tied to late-’80s hardcore.

During the BBC session, Turnstile also performed their own songs “DULL” and “I CARE,” continuing what has become a notable streak of radio-session covers for the Baltimore hardcore favorites. Earlier this year, the band stopped by Australian station Triple J and delivered a rendition of I Wanna Be Adored by The Stone Roses.

Despite periodic reunion speculation over the years, Inside Out have remained inactive since the early 1990s.
