Twisted Sister have called off their 2026 reunion tour after frontman Dee Snider stepped down amid serious health challenges. The glam metal legends, who officially retired in 2016 and briefly reunited in 2023 for a Metal Hall Of Fame celebration set, had planned a full 50th anniversary run this spring — now canceled.
Guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda shared a statement on February 5th confirming the tour’s cancellation:
“With Regrets,
Twisted Sister Cancels 50th Anniversary Celebration Performances
Due to the sudden and unexpected resignation of Twisted Sister‘s lead singer Dee Snider brought on by a series of health challenges, the band has been forced to cancel all shows scheduled, beginning April 25th in Sao Paulo Brazil and continuing through the summer.
The future of Twisted Sister will be determined in the next several weeks.
Stay tuned for updates,
Jay Jay French/Eddie Ojeda
French Management Enterprises“
Snider elaborated on his decision, citing decades of intense performing and ongoing medical struggles that have made touring impossible:
“A lifetime of legendarily aggressive performing has taken its toll on my body and soul. I suffer from degenerative arthritis and have had several surgeries over the years just to keep going, able to perform only a few songs at a time in pain.
Recently, I also learned that the intensity of my career has taken a toll on my heart. I can no longer push the boundaries of rock ‘n’ roll like I have for decades. I don’t know of any other way to rock. The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I’d rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self.
In the immortal words of Dirty Harry, ‘A man’s got to know his limitations.’ Sadly, I now know mine.”
The cancellation leaves the band’s long-term future uncertain, with members noting that further decisions about Twisted Sister’s path forward will be made in the coming weeks.
