Unprocessed have taken on one of pop music’s most recognizable songs, delivering a unique progressive metalcore reinterpretation of George Michael’s classic “Careless Whisper.”
The German outfit recently teamed up with Musora for a challenge that saw them arrange, record, and perform a cover song during a single studio session. Their song of choice turned out to be “Careless Whisper,” the iconic hit originally written by George Michael and released during his time with Wham!
The resulting video documents the entire creative process, from the band’s initial ideas and arrangement decisions to the final recorded performance, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at how Unprocessed transformed the timeless pop track into something distinctly their own.
While “Careless Whisper” remains best known for its instantly recognizable saxophone melody and smooth pop sensibilities, it has proven surprisingly adaptable over the years. Seether famously reworked the song into a hard rock ballad in 2007, while Michael’s other massive hit, “Faith,” received a nu-metal makeover from Limp Bizkit early in their career.
Fans can watch Unprocessed tackle the challenge and hear the finished version of “Careless Whisper” in the video below.
