Up-and-coming metal outfit Viscera Crown have stirred up conversation online after declaring what they described as a “war with weak riff bands,” singling out Gideon in a series of social media posts.
The band shared a statement via Instagram on March 18th that quickly drew attention within heavy music circles, positioning themselves in opposition to what they view as a softer direction taken by parts of the modern scene. The post sparked immediate reactions from fans and fellow musicians, with additional exchanges unfolding in the comments section that appeared to escalate the situation further.
While it remains unclear how serious the remarks are — or whether the exchange is partially promotional — the timing coincides with a major moment for Viscera Crown, who are preparing to release their debut EP Extreme Groove Brutality tomorrow, March 20th.
The group launched late last year and features members connected to acts including Internal Bleeding, Year Of The Knife, Cycle Of Abuse, Exit, and others, blending death metal and hardcore influences into a groove-driven sound.
Extreme Groove Brutality will include the following tracks:
01 – “Only War” (feat. Soils Of Fate)
02 – “You Won’t See It Coming”
03 – “Ignorant Bliss…”
With their debut arriving imminently, the band’s confrontational messaging has already succeeded in generating attention — whether as genuine rivalry or calculated hype remains to be seen.
