Just ahead of Bad Bunny’s much‑anticipated Super Bowl LX halftime performance, post‑hardcore outfit VRSTY have released their take on his 2024 collaboration with Rauw Alejandro, the gold‑certified single “Qué Pasaría.” Instead of a straight rock remix, the band’s version reimagines the track through a gritty, emotive lens that leans into the group’s adventurous sound.
VRSTY vocalist Joey Tyler spoke about tackling the genre‑bending cover, highlighting a personal connection to the original:
“I have such a deep love for Spanish music and my culture in general, so this song always stuck out to me. There’s something incredibly sexy and forbidden about the original, and I definitely tried my hardest to translate that in my own way! It makes me think that I should just fully commit to doing Spanish songs at some point. We’ll see!”
The cover arrives as part of VRSTY’s ongoing momentum, which sees them out on the road this month with Fire From The Gods and Divide The Fall. The trek has already hit New York and continues through Las Vegas later this week.
