Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland has shared a fresh instrumental cover of Metallica’s iconic 1986 track “Orion”, offering fans a twisted, experimental take on the late Cliff Burton’s masterpiece. The video, posted to social media over the weekend, captures Borland noodling through the instrumental in his signature off-kilter style—channeling the original’s atmosphere while injecting his own sonic personality.
The tribute arrives as Limp Bizkit gear up for a string of stadium shows supporting Metallica this spring and summer, with Ice Nine Kills also on the bill.
Borland’s reinterpretation of “Orion” could signal a deeper dive into the Metallica catalog. While the revitalized outfit have previously paid homage with performances of “Master Of Puppets”, “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)”, and “Seek & Destroy”, this latest clip hints at a possible new addition to the setlist.
