Actor, director, and musician William Shatner continues assembling an unexpected lineup of collaborators for his forthcoming heavy metal album, this time enlisting Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford for a new cover recording.
The 95-year-old entertainer has teamed with the legendary vocalist to reinterpret the band’s 1982 anthem “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’.” The track will appear on Shatner’s upcoming release, which is currently in production.
Speaking about the collaboration, Shatner shared:
“I’ve always been drawn to the energy and storytelling of heavy metal. Working with Rob on this track brings the intensity to life in a way that feels timeless and entirely new.”
Halford also commented on joining forces with Shatner, referencing the song’s iconic lyrics:
“One life I’m gonna live it up! William Shatner is boldly doing that more than ever, and I am honored to reinforce this message with him – ‘taking flight I said I’ll never get enough!”
The project is being handled by Cleopatra Records and is shaping up to feature a wide-ranging list of contributors. Confirmed guests include Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society/Ozzy Osbourne), Ritchie Blackmore (ex–Deep Purple), and Henry Rollins (ex–Black Flag), among others.
While the full tracklist has yet to be revealed, the album is expected to include covers of songs by Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden alongside original material.
