Worm have enlisted a high-profile guest for their latest descent into necromantic black doom metal. The band’s new track, “Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade”, features a guest guitar appearance from former Megadeth shredder Marty Friedman.
The collaboration appears on Worm’s upcoming full-length Necropalace, which is set to arrive on February 13th via Century Media Records. Friedman’s unmistakable lead work adds a sharp, melodic contrast to Worm’s murky and ritualistic sound, elevating the track’s ominous atmosphere without stripping away its subterranean heaviness.
“Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade” offers another grim preview of what’s to come on Necropalace, an album that continues to push Worm’s fusion of black metal, doom, and death metal into even darker and more theatrical territory.
