Rage Against The Machine’s Zack De La Rocha Executive Producing Documentary On Dead City Punx

Rage Against The Machine vocalist Zack de la Rocha has resurfaced with a new project, serving as an executive producer on an upcoming documentary focused on the politically-charged punk outfit Dead City Punx.

The film, directed by Roger Gastman, chronicles the story of the Los Angeles band and their confrontational approach to live performances. Known for staging politically motivated protest shows, Dead City Punx have built a reputation for performing in unauthorized locations and frequently clashing with local authorities due to their chaotic and outspoken gigs.

While Rage Against The Machine have remained largely inactive in recent years — despite ongoing political tensions that many fans feel would suit the band’s message — members of the group have continued to stay involved in various projects. Guitarist Tom Morello has been especially visible, regularly championing the band’s legacy and activism following their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

De la Rocha himself has kept a lower public profile, though he has surfaced occasionally. In 2025, he supported a charity shirt campaign benefiting the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, and he also appeared in the skateboarding documentary ‘Intense Energy: The Sound Of Skateboarding’.
