Thrash metal legends Anthrax have officially returned with their new single “It’s For The Kids,” marking the band’s first new music since the release of ‘For All Kings’ in 2016.
The track arrives alongside a new music video directed by Don Argott, with the visual intentionally paying tribute to the band’s classic “Madhouse” video from the 1980s.
According to the band’s camp, the video was filmed during harsh winter conditions at the infamous Pennhurst Asylum and recreates several elements from the original “Madhouse” shoot.
“Filmed on a cold rainy December day at the notorious Pennhurst Asylum the video is a throwback to Anthrax’s first video ‘Madhouse’. Many of the details were recreated for this video, including the frigid filming conditions!”
The statement also praised the fans who participated in the shoot, noting that they played a major role in bringing the video together.
“The fans are the true lifeblood of this video. They got an early taste of the music and brought this filming to life.”
The single serves as the first release from Anthrax’s upcoming twelfth studio album, titled ‘Cursum Perficio’. The record was produced by Jay Ruston, whose previous work includes projects with Stone Sour and Armored Saint.
News of the album follows a leaked track listing that surfaced earlier this week, while pre-orders for the release have already gone live online.
The new material marks a major return for the Queens, New York metal veterans as they prepare to launch the next chapter of their decades-long career.
