    AS I LAY DYING Announce 20th Anniversary European Tour for ‘Shadows Are Security’

    Despite ongoing controversy and a constantly shifting lineup, As I Lay Dying have announced their return to the stage with a European tour this fall. The trek—billed as “An Evening With As I Lay Dying”—will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band’s pivotal 2005 album, Shadows Are Security.

    Yesterday (May 20th), it was revealed that the band had signed with FM Music Management, whose roster includes the likes of Testament, Exodus, and more. The announcement arrived amid a cloud of uncertainty surrounding the band’s future following a tumultuous 2024 that left Tim Lambesis as the sole remaining member.

    The newly announced tour will kick off October 30th in Moscow, Russia, and wrap November 14th in the Netherlands, with no support acts currently listed. As of press time, no new band members have been named.

    This announcement marks the band’s first official activity since the cancellation of their planned 2024 “Through Storms Ahead” European tour, which was scrapped in the wake of a complete lineup collapse. Late last year, Phil Sgrosso, Nick Pierce, Ken Susi, and Ryan Neff each exited the band within a matter of days, citing personal and professional differences.

    The controversy surrounding Lambesis continues to mount. In recent months, leaked home security footage depicted the frontman in violent arguments with his now-estranged third wife, as well as a separate clip that appeared to show him physically abusing his dog. Lambesis responded by claiming he had filed for divorce and accused his wife of sustained abuse. He characterized his behavior as “anxiety-filled reactions” under emotional duress.

    These latest incidents follow Lambesis’s widely publicized 2014 conviction, where he served over two years in prison after attempting to hire a hitman to kill his then-wife. After being paroled in late 2016, he slowly rebuilt As I Lay Dying, reuniting with several longtime members and attempting to rebrand himself through public apologies and new music.

    With no current lineup announced and public scrutiny ongoing, it remains to be seen how fans will respond to the band’s latest comeback attempt.

        Mike Dellape I think you will find a lot of people agreed that he deserved a second chance back in 2018. But the problem is Nick, Jordan and Josh all leaving somewhat close together citing Tim’s behavior as the problem. And then Phil, Ryan, Ken and Nick as well as the bands Manager all leaving in the space of a week in 2024 citing Tim’s behavior as the problem. That man has something wrong with him. He is clearly a very destructive person. And I respect the fact you still love the band. I still enjoy their music. But the band is more than just Tim. It’s all the people he has pushed out. If you really loved AILD, then you’d take a bit of an issue with Tim repeatedly pushing out the people who made the band great. There has to be a point where we say enough is enough and we let the band rest and get Tim help.

      Feels a bit weird. Especially considering that 3/4 of the band who wrote this album are definitely not showing up to celebrate it. It would almost feel like a Tribute band celebrating an album. Also a bit weird, lets reminisce about better times. Before the unpleasantness or the unpleasantness that came before that. Or the unpleasantness that preceded that even. Back when AILD was a proper band. Lets forget all of that and pretend its 2005 again. Just without Nick, Phil or Jordan. Just Tim. The one who fucked everything up. In fact, can I just say, I really think As I Lay Dying would fared better if they just booted Tim out back in 2014. If Nick, Phil, Jordan and Josh took the band name and toured with another singer, i’d be 100% on board with that. And this anniversary might have meant more because at least 3/4 of the people who wrote it would be celebrating it. And who knows, maybe as a one off, they might have invited Tim to celebrate with them.

          Ryan Brooks you’re not wrong but then again most of them are somewhat intact or invite other members back. When Machine Head did Burn my Eyes, they brought back Chris and Logan. For Poisoned Ascendancy, Bullet had 50% and Trivium had 75% of the original members. AILD has 20% and that’s also the 20% who is to blame for the 80% leaving. Just seems like a strange idea to celebrate when everything has gone to shit as much as this band has.

      Grammy nominated for an album and touring the world.
      when tim done what he done and came out.
      I thought he is genuinely sorry for what he’s done.
      I will give him the benefit of the dout.
      The band got back together and done a great album.
      Tim got divorced again, members of the band started dropping off…bar phil.

      I thought there has to be a problem going on there.
      Either way the album was good.

      He got a new misses and done his own music for abit

      New band members were recruited for to record a new album.
      People started dropping off including phil before the album was released

      It has to be Tim thats the problem,whether that this history of him or he’s just hard work to work with.

        I don’t care how talented they are, people like that don’t deserve public praise.

          Heather Gallegos he was also trying to attempt a play on lyrics from the song “My Own Grave”. Everything you said in every comment is super spot on. This was my favorite band at one point and actually got me through some of the worst times in my life. They were a source of hope and positivity for me when I needed it the most. They also influenced in impacted my musical taste which funny enough steered me into thrash metal when I started playing the guitar, which is very important to me and has therapeutical benefits and a very important aspect in my life. This led me to taking a deep dive into Metallica funny enough. Which has also become one of my all time favs, and opened my eyes to a ton of thrash and brought a whole new appreciation to the genre for me. Seek and destroy is a great beginner metal song to learn. I actually disliked Metallica prior to this 😂 ANYWAYS AILD impacted and changed my life in many amazing ways, but fuck em. It was tragic watching it all unfold and learning who Tim truly was. But you can’t ignore the reality of what a shit person he is. Facts are facts. Complete scumbag. I refuse to endorse, or financially sponsor that dickhead. People will minimalize or explain off the the things he did or continue to do, but fuck them too. They are ignorant 😂. Holy shit I rambled… sorry, super stoned.

I was even excited about the release of the new album, but ive never played it once. So disappointing because they were such a good band.

      The fact that there are still people out there willing to play with this psychopath is BAFFLING. He is a great composer and vocalist, no one denies it, but when literally EVERYONE abandon you, citing “unhealthy environment” as a reason, it’s clear that you have fucked up. Guy has some serious issues and until he really clears his mind, makes peace with his demons and comes to terms with the consequences of his actions, he can’t expect music and other people to be his crutch.

Serra expressly appreciated my gynecomastic constitution; noted, and treated, the rectal tag I had developed, expedited my (anastrozole) prescription, and ordered my medication be administered effective immediately.

      On July 17, 2014, I finally began receiving daily dosages of anastrozole.

      By the time I enjoyed my right to adequate medical care — while incarcerated — the damage was done. I now suffer the adverse adornment of fully formed breasts, respectively, upon my physique — that is, a permanent gynecomastic consitution. To date, the pain and ultra-sensitivity associated with my, now, male mammaries remains. Worst of, all is the anxiety and depression I experience just knowing, feeling, seeing, the protuberances that are my male breasts.

      As I am a stage performer by profession, much of my act is based upon the visual stimulus of audience perception — i.e., as a front man of leading rockstardom, my continued success is contingent upon my projecting a favorable physical image, Now, with the advent of these unsightly breasts, my music career shall undoubtedly suffer monetarily.

      Therefore I demand compensatory relief: recompense the medical cost of the surgeries necessitated to redress my breasts to normal, masculine comforts; recompense the projected costs of psychotherapy thus in treating the mental trauma — e.g., extreme anxiety, severe depression, mental anguish, emotional distress — I continue to endure proximate the, respective, gross negligence and deliberate indifference to my serious medical needs that VDF Nurse Mary Abiaro, GBDF ‘Doctor’ Pace have afforded me; recompense the loss of revenue concerning my career as a stage performer — i.e., the adverse affects, monetary losses, that my unsightly breasts have had upon my illustrious, tremendously marketable and exceedingly profitable, image of commanding physicality. Even my songwriting has been adversely affected as my guitar brushes against my sensitive breasts thus disrupting my very concentration ceasing valuable production.”
