The latest incarnation of metalcore outfit As I Lay Dying is set to release its next full-length album early next year.
The band’s new self-titled effort, ‘As I Lay Dying’, will arrive February 5 through Napalm Records. The record will serve as the follow-up to 2024’s ‘Through Storms Ahead’.
The band has also offered some clarification regarding its recent fan voting campaign, confirming that the voting process will not impact the album’s 10-song tracklist.
In a statement, As I Lay Dying explained that the album’s core tracklist has already been finalized, with the majority of the material falling somewhere between “Polarized” and “Retribution.” The band needed to lock in those songs so the album could proceed to manufacturing.
However, two additional songs are reportedly nearing completion, and the band is now giving fans an opportunity to help determine what happens with that material.
“We have some clarity now after talking with the label and management.
The 10 songs for the new album are officially locked, with most of the record landing somewhere between “Polarized” and “Retribution.” We needed to finalize those 10 so the album could move forward into manufacturing.
But we also have two additional songs that are close to finished and could be ready pretty quickly. Rather than deciding what happens with those entirely on our own, we want you involved.
The extra songs also cover different sides of AILD, ranging from more melodic to very aggressive. Your votes will help determine what we do with them and which direction we release next.
So to be clear, the voting is not changing the 10-song album. It’s helping us decide what happens with the bonus material after it.

The album was produced and engineered by founding As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis and bassist/vocalist Chris Clancy, while Ted Jensen, whose credits include work with Eagles and Billy Joel, handled the mastering.
Lead singles “Polarized” and “Retribution” are expected to be released imminently.
