Two members of Asking Alexandria appear to be hinting at a return to heavier territory — albeit outside the confines of their main band.
Guitarist Cameron Liddell and bassist Sam Bettley recently took to social media to tease what looks to be a new project together. While Asking Alexandria originally rose to prominence during the late-2000s metalcore boom, the group has gradually shifted toward a more mainstream hard rock sound in recent years.
Their evolution has divided longtime fans, particularly as vocalist/guitarist Danny Worsnop has scaled back on harsher vocals in live settings. Worsnop previously stated that screaming as he gets older now “messes” his throat up, and the band’s shows have at times relied on backing tracks to supplement heavier sections.
Outside the band, Worsnop has also pursued solo material — including more recent ventures into country — signaling a broadening of creative interests within the camp.
Now, it seems Liddell and Bettley may be exploring a heavier outlet of their own. Earlier this week, the pair jointly shared a cryptic teaser online hinting at new music, though no official details, band name, or release timeline have yet been revealed.
For fans hoping for a revival of Asking Alexandria’s earlier aggression, this side project could provide a glimpse back toward the heavier influences that first put the band on the map.
More information is expected as the project develops.

1 part of a song thats heavy n 13 radio songs isn’t what we are looking for
Nick Temple there new stuff is okay I think either new to end band or do something fresh again
Andres Gianni i just dont agree with metelcore bands that start out heavy and gain popularity through our fan base then switch up on us and make us feel guilty cuz we didn’t follow them into sell out range. Then tease their old fan base with “heavier than original”, then its all radio tunes and they used us for record sales.
Andres Gianni its awful.
