ATTACK ATTACK! Fire Back at Metalcore Critics With New Single “i complain on r/metalcore”

Attack Attack! are back with another tongue-in-cheek metalcore anthem — and this one’s aimed directly at the internet’s most opinionated scene purists. The track, titled “i complain on r/metalcore”, is the latest preview of the band’s upcoming full-length Attack Attack II, which arrives August 08th via Oxide Records. It also marks their first new album since 2012.

A press release broke down the satirical concept behind the new single:

“Attack Attack! are here to celebrate the fine art of online complaining with ‘i complain on r/metalcore’, yet another high-energy, tongue-in-cheek banger that was designed for anyone who’s ever posted a 12-paragraph essay about why the old stuff was better. If you’re reaching for your keyboard to draft up your thinkpiece, Attack Attack! would like to preemptively respond: ‘don’t @ us.’”

Lyrics for the track, which blends chaotic breakdowns, sardonic verses, and ironic flair, are available in full above.

Attack Attack II is set to deliver 11 tracks that lean into the band’s signature blend of genre-bending aggression and self-aware humor.

The band will also hit the road this summer for the ‘One Hit Wonder’ tour, joined by Savage Hands and Versus Me. Dates are as follows:
