BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME Debut “Absent Thereafter”

Progressive metal visionaries Between The Buried And Me have just unveiled their brand new single “Absent Thereafter”, a nearly ten-and-a-half minute epic that continues to showcase the band’s fearless approach to composition. The track marks the second single from their upcoming eleventh studio album, The Blue Nowhere, which arrives September 12th via InsideOut Music.

Vocalist/keyboardist Tommy Rogers described the new song as a definitive example of the band’s sound:

“To me, ‘Absent Thereafter’ feels like the quintessential BTBAM song – fun, intense, spacy, and still fucking heavy. I like to think it takes the listener on an unexpected journey, with ear candy waiting around every corner. It’s a deeper dive into all of the dynamic places you’re taken within ‘The Blue Nowhere’!”

Bassist Dan Briggs added some colorful insight of his own:

“This song moves arrangement-wise in two parts divided by a key change and tonal shift of the chorus, but is ultimately the big fun time bombastic energy of a Van Halen shuffle with Huey Lewis and the News horns going through variations that are sometimes heavily syncopated, sometimes lost in space, and sometimes inspiring you to break out into a do-si-do. Grab your washboard and let’s go!”

As anticipation builds for The Blue Nowhere, the band is preparing to embark on an extensive run of live dates, which includes a special “Colors” set overseas and a massive North American tour with support from Hail The Sun, The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, and Delta Sleep.
