Some major new details have emerged for ‘Back To The Beginning’, the highly anticipated farewell celebration for the original lineup of BLACK SABBATH and their iconic frontman OZZY OSBOURNE. The massive one-day event will take place July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK, and promises to be a truly historic send-off.
In addition to being the final planned performance for the heavy metal pioneers, the show will also feature a revolving cast of special guests performing songs from both the BLACK SABBATH and Ozzy Osbourne catalogs.
“There’s Gonna Be Two or Three Surprises”
Speaking to Planet Rock, promoter Andy Copping (best known for his work with Download Festival) teased some surprise appearances and revealed how they plan to keep the massive lineup moving smoothly:
“There’s a couple of acts that have confirmed but not been announced yet so they’re going to be part of the proceedings. There’s still one or two that have kind of popped their head up literally in the last week saying they would like to be part of the event. So we’re talking about how we can fit those into the schedule.”
“The event itself is going to be very fluid. We’ve got a revolving stage so when somebody is playing, we’re gonna be building up the back line and everything for the act after that. We’re hoping for a 10 to 12 minute gap in-between each act… At this one, it’s going be very fluid. It’s going to be act after act after act. It’s almost like blink and you’ll miss it.”
