Butcher Babies Premiere “Blame It On The Wind” After Weather Delay Scraps Sonic Temple Live Debut

Alternative metal outfit Butcher Babies have officially released their new single “Blame It On The Wind” online after plans to debut the track live at Sonic Temple Festival were disrupted by severe weather.

The band had intended to premiere the song during their set in Columbus, OH, but lightning and heavy rain forced multiple festival performances—including theirs—to be cut short for safety reasons.

Following the setback, the studio version of the track has now been made available, giving fans their first full listen to the new material despite the cancelled live reveal.

The release cycle has also sparked some discussion online after the band shared an AI-generated joke video referencing the festival situation. Frontwoman Heidi Shepherd later clarified that the clip was intended as satire, noting that an official music video for the single is still on the way.

“Blame It On The Wind” continues the band’s recent collaboration with producer Howard Benson, alongside Joe Rickard (formerly of In Flames), with Benson and Rickard both contributing to production and mixing under the Judge & Jury Records banner.
