Butcher Babies Premiere “Blame It On The Wind” Music Video

Los Angeles metal outfit Butcher Babies have premiered the music video for their recently released track “Blame It On The Wind,” a visually stylized clip co-directed by vocalist Heidi Shepherd and guitarist Henry Flury, with animation handled by Ren Tachibana.

The song explores a deeply personal and reflective narrative centered on an unresolved connection that Shepherd says originated in 2012 and lingered far beyond its initial moment, blurring the line between impulse, memory, and emotional consequence.

“There are certain nights, certain moments, and certain connections you never fully shake. ‘Blame It On The Wind’ came from one of those nights that should have disappeared in the morning. In 2012, what started as a one-night stand morphed into a connection that would haunt me for years…”

Shepherd goes on to describe the track as being rooted in desire, denial, and the tendency to externalize responsibility when emotions become difficult to confront.

“This song is about a lust you can’t leave, a denial of accountability, and a laundry list of excuses for following the white rabbit. I think sometimes we blame the setting for the choices we make because it’s easier than admitting someone genuinely got under our skin.”

The release continues the band’s recent creative partnership with producer Howard Benson, alongside contributions from Neil Sanderson of Three Days Grace, with Joe Rickard assisting on production and mixing duties.

Ironically, the band’s plan to debut the song live last month was ultimately derailed by severe weather conditions.
