New Found Glory Guitarist Chad Gilbert Recovering Following Brain Tumor Surgery

New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert has shared that he is currently recovering after undergoing surgery to remove three brain tumors late last month.

The musician revealed that the procedure took place on February 27th after he began experiencing alarming physical symptoms during and shortly after a live performance in Nashville earlier in February. Gilbert has remained hospitalized while focusing on recovery and rehabilitation.

In a statement posted to social media, Gilbert detailed how the situation unfolded and the progress he has made since the operation.

“On February 20th, I played a show in Nashville and was struggling to control the movements of my left hand. My left leg was getting weaker by the day and I started stumbling and falling at times.

On the 23rd I was taken to the ER where a CT scan showed 3 new tumors had appeared in my brain. On 2/27 I had successful brain surgery and have been recovering in the hospital since. I regained function of my left hand immediately 🙏🏻”

Gilbert went on to share encouraging words from his medical team, explaining that doctors remain optimistic about his recovery and future.

“My radiation oncologist described it like this: ‘this is not a fatal blow and not the end of your story, just the beginning of a new chapter.’ My recovery has been bumpy at times but I’m feeling much better now and getting stronger by the day.”

He also thanked fans, friends, and family for their support throughout the ongoing health battle, noting that he has limited phone usage while continuing to recover.
