Sevendust Guitarist Clint Lowery To Sit Out Part Of European Tour Due To Family & Health Priorities

Sevendust guitarist and vocalist Clint Lowery has confirmed he will be absent from the opening leg of the band’s upcoming European tour with Alter Bridge and Daughtry.

Lowery addressed the situation in a video message shared on January 4, explaining that a combination of family commitments and ongoing health monitoring made the decision necessary. While the move wasn’t easy, he emphasized that it was the right one given his current stage of life.

“Unfortunately I’m not going to be able to make the front half of this tour for a couple of reasons,” Lowery explained.

“First off, family commitments. I made a promise to my kids years ago that I would not be gone a certain amount of time anymore… I have to honor that promise and make sure that I’m present for them as well.”

Lowery also revealed that lingering health concerns from last year played a role in the decision, noting that he has upcoming medical tests scheduled before rejoining the band overseas.

“Secondly, I had a couple health issues last year. I have a couple tests coming up just to confirm everything is cool there before I join the band.”

Covering guitar duties during Lowery’s absence will once again be Sevendust manager Tim Tournier, who has filled in for the band on previous occasions.

In an accompanying caption, Lowery expanded on the emotional weight of the choice and reassured fans that he plans to return before the tour concludes.

“It’s a hard decision that I had to make, but the right one for the season of life I’m in currently,” he wrote.

“I adore the European fanbase… the passion from the people there is incredible. My brother Tim will do an amazing job filling in, no doubt.”

“At this stage I have to prioritize my family and well-being. Support my Sevendust brothers. I will join them soon to finish it off.”
