Crystal Lake Debut “Everblack” Video As David Simonich Guests On New Album

Crystal Lake have released a new music video for ‘Everblack’, coinciding with the arrival of their seventh studio album, The Weight Of Sound.

The Japanese metalcore outfit tapped Takuya Oyama to direct the visual for the track, which features a guest appearance from Signs Of The Swarm vocalist David Simonich. The song stands out as one of several collaborations on the album, which leans heavily into both aggression and emotional weight.

The Weight Of Sound includes additional guest contributions from Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), Myke Terry (Volumes, Fire From The Gods), Karl Schubach (ex-Misery Signals), and Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer, Seven Hours After Violet), making it one of the most feature-heavy releases in Crystal Lake’s catalog to date.

Vocalist John Robert Centorrino described the album as his most personal work yet, framing it as an emotional snapshot of his life experiences.

“This whole new album is about the ups and downs of my life. The most personal I’ve ever been on a record,” Centorrino said. “I wouldn’t call it conceptual, but it’s definitely a poetic diary-esque journey into my life.”

He added that the writing process was deeply emotional and often difficult.

“I cried while writing 80% of these songs. I died a little bit again with each word. As I wrote, I relived. This is the real me,” he continued. “The story of a man you love to hate. Enjoy.”

With The Weight Of Sound now available, ‘Everblack’ serves as both a visual centerpiece and an emotional anchor for the album’s themes of reflection, trauma, and resilience.
