Dayseeker’s “Sleeptalk” Becomes Band’s First Gold-Certified Single In The U.S.

Dayseeker have reached a major career milestone, with their 2019 track “Sleeptalk” officially earning gold certification in the United States.

The RIAA confirmed the certification on April 10th, marking the first time the Californian post-hardcore outfit has received gold status for a single. The track serves as the title song from their fourth studio album ‘Sleeptalk’, and has remained one of the band’s most enduring and recognizable releases.

Commercially, “Sleeptalk” has continued to outperform the rest of Dayseeker’s catalog on streaming platforms, currently sitting at over 97 million plays on Spotify. Its closest rival is 2022’s “Without Me,” which has amassed nearly 59 million streams.

The milestone reflects the track’s long-term growth since its release, with sustained streaming performance ultimately pushing it past the RIAA’s gold threshold.

RIAA Certification Breakdown

A gold certification in the United States represents 500,000 units, while platinum represents 1,000,000 units. These totals include a combination of physical sales, digital downloads, and streaming equivalents.

Under current RIAA methodology:

• 10 permanent track downloads = 1 unit
• 1,500 on-demand streams = 1 album unit
• 150 streams = 1 track unit
